Campus Handgun Policy
Pursuant to Section 30.05, Penal Code (criminal trespass), 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with a concealed handgun), and 30.07, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with an openly carried handgun), a person may not enter this property with a firearm, a concealed handgun, or a handgun that is carried openly.
Conforme a la Sección 30.05 del Código Penal (traspaso criminal), 30.06 del Código Penal (traspasar portando armas de fuego ocultas con licencia) y 30.07 del Código Penal (traspasar portando armas de fuego al aire libre con licencia), una persona no puede entrar a esta propiedad con un arma de fuego, un arma de fuego oculta o un arma de fuego al aire libre.
Weapons Prohibition Policy
Rice University also maintains a Weapons Prohibition Policy that prohibits all members of the Rice community (including faculty, staff, students, contractors, and visitors) from possessing firearms, explosives, other dangerous weapons, and replicas of dangerous weapons while on Rice property. The Policy also describes limited exceptions to the prohibition on possession or storage of weapons at Rice. You may view the Policy here.
